A unique assessment process for entrepreneurs and CEOs of growing businesses to identify and onboard their ideal Second-In-Command, so they can focus on the work they’re best at.

During the Second-In-Command Design engagement, we will use a comprehensive assessment process to better understand the current state of the business and build the ideal CEO/COO partnership for the company. The assessment process consists of the following key steps:

GENERAL dISCOVERY

We conduct in-depth research and analysis of your business, examining its past, present, and future trajectory. This includes reviewing your 3-5 year vision and long-term goals, analyzing current and upcoming strategic initiatives, and assessing your company's culture and reputation through public sources and PR.

PERSONALITY FIT

We assess the personality fit between the CEO and the ideal Second-In-Command. This may involve conducting a personality test and addressing key areas such as adaptability, time management, drive, communication, and more

ACCOUNTABILITIES FIT

We work closely with the CEO to identify all the tasks and responsibilities they currently handle. Through a comprehensive analysis, we will determine which areas align with their unique abilities, where they are competent but could benefit from delegation, and which tasks are not a good fit for them. This exercise will help us establish a clear picture of the ideal role and responsibilities for the Second-In-Command.

TEAM INTERVIEW

We conduct individual interviews with members of the leadership or management team to gather insights and feedback on various aspects of the organization, including training and coaching, employee onboarding, sales processes, meetings, and ongoing projects. Shadowing a leadership team meeting will also be part of this process, if applicable. This information provides valuable input for designing the role of the COO. Any interviews with staff will be mindful of the employees time and productivity.
