The role of the Second-In-Command can be challenging, misunderstood, and isolating. Each COO role is completely different, and solely based on the strengths, weaknesses, and individual needs of the founder. Because of this, there are few executive coaches that specialize in the COO. During the Second-In-Command Coaching engagement, you can anticipate one-on-one coaching sessions and tools tailored to your specific needs and challenges.

LAUNCH DAY

The Second First Coaching Framework begins with a Launch Day, a half-day kick-off with both the CEO and Second-In-Command. We work through various exercises to get on the same page, learn how to best work together, and align on priorities. Along with personal objectives, the COO will have access to additional trainings such as Strategic Planning, Leading & Managing Teams, Working with Entrepreneurs, and Time Planning and Balancing.
 

BI-WEEKLY ONE-ON-ONES

Your coach will facilitate one-on-one sessions every other week with the COO. During “off weeks”, the work is being done – implementing training, projects, assigned reading, or strategic planning. A check-in will be conducted on alternate weeks to ensure progress and provide continuous support.

QUARTERLY SAME PAGE MEETINGS

Quarterly, a meeting with the CEO and COO will be facilitated by your coach to review quarterly planning outcomes and align on initiatives for the upcoming quarter. The book Rocket Fuel describes this as a Same Page Meeting. This is a 2-4 hour offsite meeting meant to built your personal relationship, list issues, concerns, ideas, and disconnects, and work through them all until solved. This will set the intentions and priorities for the upcoming quarter of coaching.

The LAUNCH DAY WORKSHOP

Every coaching engagement begins with a workshop at your office called Launch Day. This half-day kick-off with both the CEO and Second-In-Command includes a variety of exercises to strengthen your partnership and align on the most urgent and important needs of the business.

*Travel is included with the first month's coaching fee.
